A hiker was found dead in the Grand Canyon on Sunday morning, and authorities were investigating the death. The Grand Canyon Regional Communications Center received a report of an unresponsive hiker on the Bright Angel Trail just before 7 a.

A 41-year-old camped in the Grand Canyon, then died during his trek out, rangers said. The man was found unresponsive at about 6:45 a.m. June 16 on the Bright Angel Trail in Arizona, the National Park Service said in a news release. He was found less than a half-mile from the Pipe Creek River Resthouse, officials said.
