Texas State Senator Angela Paxton announced that she'd filed for divorce from the state’s Attorney General Ken Paxton after 38 years of marriage “in light of recent discoveries.”

Records revealed that the Paxtons collected an impermissible homestead tax break on two of those homes, and they have routinely flouted lending agreements on some of their other properties.

Mortgage documents reveal they have declared all three of these houses as their primary residences, according to the outlet. Declaring three homes as primary residences could have saved them money because interest rates on primary homes are lower than those on secondary homes,
