Amphenol on Monday entered a $10.5 billion deal to buy CommScope's connectivity and cable solutions unit, the largest purchase by the fibre-optic cable maker that would make it a key player in the market for U.

If an Amphenol-CommScope deal sounds familiar, that's because this is the second such deal that Amphenol has pursued in the past year.

Once the CSS deal closes in the first half of 2026, CommScope will refocus on its access network and Ruckus businesses. The former unit makes equipment for linking internet provider networks to customers’ homes. Ruckus, in turn, sells switches, wireless access points and software for managing them.
