Trump’s average approval rating for the second quarter of his second term, April 20-July 19, is 40% in Gallup polling, compared to a 39% average in the second quarter of his first term but below second-term averages for every post-World War II president.

The UMass Amherst poll, released Monday, found that Trump’s approval rating slipped six percentage points since the survey was last conducted in April. According to the new poll, just 38% of respondents approved of how Trump is handling his job as president while 58% disapproved.

In the survey conducted in early May, 22 percent of Black voters said they approved of the job Trump was doing, while 69 percent disapproved, giving him a net approval rating of -47. Trump's net approval ratings among Black voters in polls conducted in June and July were -54 and -64 respectively.
