Almost two dozen Massachusetts beaches are closed on a gloomy, humid Monday that could see more thunderstorms later in the day.

Dozens of beaches across several states are closed or have health advisories in place due to elevated bacteria levels.

There are 20 beaches closed in Massachusetts on Sunday, July 6. Beaches were closed across 18 communities, many due to high bacteria levels, according to the state’s Department of Public Health (DPH).
