Jamie Smith and Harry Brook hit fearless centuries as England bounced back from the brink with a stunning partnership on day three of the second Rothesay Test against India.

England has had big centuries from Harry Brook and Jamie Smith but little else to celebrate as India stayed in control of the second test on a turbulent Day 3 at Edgbaston.

Brook and Smith's memorable 303-run stand was the third 300-plus stand for the sixth wicket or lower for England in Tests after 399 between Ben Stokes and Jonny Bairstow (against South Africa, Cape Town, 2016) and 332 between Jonathan Trott and Stuart Broad (against Pakistan, Lord's, 2010).
