Joey Chestnut regained his top dog title today by consuming 70.5 wieners at the 2025 Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest in Coney Island, Brooklyn.

Joey Chestnut is once again top dog. The competitive-eating icon returned to Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest after being banned from last year’s competition and ate his way to a 17 th career victory at the annual Fourth of July event in Coney Island, New York.

Mr. Chestnut, who was barred last year over an endorsement deal with a vegan-meat company, and Miki Sudo easily won their respective contests but did not break records.

Joey Chestnut is back on top of the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest, winning his 17th Mustard Belt in 20 years after being banned from the annual Fourth of July competition on Coney Island last year over a contract dispute.

The champ is back. After a year away from the famed eating contest on the Coney Island boardwalk, Joey Chestnut returned to once again dominate at Nathan’s Famous International Hot Dog Eating Contest by consuming 70 1/2 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes to win another “Mustard Belt.

Chestnut, 41, had won eight consecutive titles heading into 2024. Last year’s contest was won by Patrick Bertoletti, who finished second this year wit 46.5 hot dogs and buns consumed. Miki Sudo claimed the pink belt in the women’s contest after eating 33 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes.
