It's been five days since Wyandotte County Sheriff's Deputy Elijah Ming was killed while assisting at a domestic standby call.

Law enforcement officials said the killing of Elijah Ming, 34, was another example in the spate of domestic violence calls and shootings this summer. If convicted, Shawn Harris, 38, faces a life sentence or the death penalty.

The shooting killed 34-year-old Elijah Ming, a nearly nine-year veteran of the Wyandotte County Sherrif’s Office on Saturday.
