Israel has vowed to continue its war against Hizbollah militants despite the Iran ceasefire agreement. More than 254 people were killed — including 153 in Beirut and its southern suburbs — and more than 700 wounded in Wednesday’s strikes, according to Lebanon’s state-run civil defence service.

On the first day of the US-Iran ceasefire on Wednesday, Israel conducted its biggest wave of strikes on Lebanon since the war began, killing at least 182 people, a move that threatens to derail an already fragile truce.
