While Shaun Gray, a cousin of 'Maverick' screenwriter Eric Warren Singer, was denied a court order that he's a co-author of the screenplay, he can still pursue damages for copyright infringement.

A judge has ruled that whatever work Shaun Gray did on the much-tinkered-with script for Maverick, it doesn't qualify for a credit.
