Michigan is among the states that sued the federal government over a pending rule that seeks extensive access to the records of SNAP recipients.

Maryland has joined 20 other states and Washington, D.C., in a lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s demand for personal information of those who are part of the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program,

The Trump administration told states to provide the data by July 30 or risk losing federal funding to administer the program. This is California’s 35th suit against the Trump administration.
