A heat advisory is in effect across much of Minnesota on Friday, with strong storms possible later in the night.

Strong to severe storms are possible early Friday morning across central and eastern Minnesota with damaging wind risk.

Friday is a Forecast First Alert day, especially for the evening and overnight hours. Heat and humidity will build through the day, with highs in the low 90s and heat indices climbing into the mid to upper 90s.

A heat advisory is in effect for much of Minnesota with heat index values in the triple digits. Things could turn stormy this evening for parts of the state, with a level 2 slight risk of severe weather.
