Meteorologists are still working to determine exactly how many tornadoes touched down and how strong they were.

The National Weather Service office in Duluth says its meteorologists conducted a preliminary survey in the Brainerd Lakes area and found evidence of multiple tornadoes that caused damage to properties and resorts in the area. Evidence of tornado damage and severe thunderstorm damage has also been confirmed in northeastern Minnesota.
