NASCAR driver Ross Chastain visited Watkins Glen on Thursday in a meet and greet with race fans as part of the “Protect Your Melon” campaign. The campaign’s focus was on raising awareness about the usage of seatbelt safety.

On Thursday, Aug. 7 Chastain will appear on the lawn of the Schuyler County Courthouse at 105 9th St. in Watkins Glen from 9 a.m. to noon and 1-3 p.m. to sign autographs and promote the importance of seat belt use through the “Protect Your Melon” campaign.

The Truck series' most recent race at Watkins Glen International was on Aug. 7, 2021 when Austin Hill won an event that was shortened by lightning. Friday: Mostly sunny with a high of 85 degrees and winds from the south at 5 to 10 mph.
