Former NCT member Taeil has been sentenced to 3.5 years in prison by a Seoul court for the rape of an intoxicated Chinese tourist in 2024.
Taeil was a part of NCT, or otherwise known as Neo Culture Technology. The group is a popular South Korean boy band that debuted close to a decade ago, back in 2016.
Taeil was also a part of subgroup NCT 127, which released its sixth studio album “Walk” in July. He’s also contributed solo tracks to several South Korean film soundtracks.
NCT 127 hasn’t released music since before Taeil left. The band’s last album, July 2024’s Walk, reached No. 117 on the Billboard 200.
