Everything was on the line for Bruce Springsteen during the making of his seminal 'Born to Run' album — and his nerves were showing, as Peter Ames Carlin outlines in 'Tonight in Jungleland.'

In his new book, Tonight in Jungleland, Peter Ames Carlin says that Bruce Springsteen chose to have Clarence Clemons on the cover of Born to Run with him in part to stand against racism Carlin spoke to former E Street band member David Sancious,

Bruce Springsteen had second thoughts while making his iconic Born to Run album, and he even told his team to "trash" one of the memorable songs.
