Virginia State Police said they have no evidence of mass abductions as of the time of reporting despite multiple posts about missing children in the state.

Virginia State Police issued a statement on Wednesday debunking viral rumors of mass child abductions that have recently popped up on social media.

Though many on social media are talking about an alleged mass kidnapping of children taking place in Virginia over the past few weeks, Virginia State Police and a Virginia-based foundation say such claims are not true.
