The haggadah, handwritten in Spain in the 14th century and brought to Sarajevo after the expulsion of the Jews from Spain in 1492, has been owned by the museum since 1894.
During World War Two and Bosnia's 1992-1995 war, Muslim historians saved the Sarajevo Haggadah, the 14th century Jewish book of Passover rites which found home in the city from Spain.
Companies and individuals donated food and technical equipment for the museum. A multimedia concert was devoted to a journey of the 600-year-old Haggadah from Spain across Italy to Sarajevo.
