On the heels of Primetime Emmy nominations, the Television Academy has announced that beloved actors Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen will receive the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award during the 77th Emmy Awards ceremony and telecast, airing on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2025.

This prestigious trophy recognizes their lifelong dedication to philanthropy, activism, and making a positive impact around the globe.

Danson and Steenburgen, who have been married since 1995, are the first couple to receive the honor, which has been presented irregularly since 2002.

Danson and Steenburgen are both beloved and celebrated film and TV actors, with Danson being a two-time Emmy winner and Steenburgen the recipient of an Academy Award (for best supporting actress for 1980’s “Melvin and Howard). They’ve appeared in several titles together, including “Gulliver’s Travels” and “It Must be Love.”
