Officers were called to the 8100 block of South Prairie Park Place just after 1 a.m. after reports of shots possibly fired inside a home.

Two residents were inside the house when a suspect broke in. The residents are safe and out of the home, Clay County Sheriff Mark Empting said.

A spokesperson with the sheriff's office said law enforcement has exhausted the possibility of the suspect still being inside the Burger King after an alleged burglary.
