The aftermath of deadly flooding in Texas over the Fourth of July weekend has moved to the top of the agenda for a special legislative session that started this week.

Governor Greg Abbott will introduce flood preparedness legislation at Monday's special session following deadly July 4th flooding.

There are 18 items on the special session agenda. Four items relate directly to the catastrophic flooding in the Hill Country. Gov. Abbott has asked the Legislature to approve funding for the response and recovery.

The Texas Legislature will convene a 30-day special session on Monday to address 18 items outlined by Governor Greg Abbott, including flood relief, THC product regulation, and congressional redistricting.

The bill represents the first of expected flood-related measures as lawmakers prepare to address the July 4 Central Texas disaster that exposed gaps in warning systems across the region.
