US President Donald Trump remains open to renewed denuclearisation talks with North Korea, even as Kim Yo Jong, sister of leader Kim Jong Un, warned that any attempt to pressure the country into giving up its nuclear weapons would be seen as “nothing but a mockery” by the US side.

North Korea said on Tuesday the United States must accept that reality has changed since the countries' summit meetings in the past, and no future dialogue would end its nuclear program, state media KCNA reported.

North Korea has said relations between its leader Kim Jong Un and President Donald Trump are “not bad”, signalling potential willingness to enter into talks with the new US administration for the first time.

North Korea has continued its denunciations of the United States, but notably hasn't attacked Trump personally.
