While The Goonies has long inspired hopes of a sequel, star Josh Brolin isn’t embarking on that quest just yet. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight at the premiere of Zach Cregger’s much-anticipated horror film Weapons,

The Oscar-nominated actor shares new intel on a potential follow-up to the 1985 classic, whose story was conceived by Steven Spielberg.

Josh Brolin played the role of Brandon Walsh, aka Brand, in the 1985 film The Goonies. The character is an athlete in high school and is the elder brother of the protagonist, Michael Walsh.

"The experience was so great," he says of starring in the original 1985 adventure flick, adding that he doesn't want to taint his memory of it with a subpar sequel.
