The Massachusetts Department of Public Health announced that the West Nile virus was found in mosquito samples in New Bedford and Norton. According to the City of New Bedford, the sample was found near Oak Grove Cemetery in a “primarily bird-biting mosquito.

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health announced that a mosquito sample tested positive for West Nile virus in New Bedford. Officials said the sample was found in the area of Oak Grove Cemetery.

While the mosquitos were detected to have the virus, there have been no human infections in Worcester as of yet.
