The Oscars will launch its first wave of digital screeners on Friday, Aug. 15, for its 11,000+ members to consider for the 98th Academy Awards, which will mark the official start of awards season as studios vie for voters’ attention on the members-only streaming platform.

Netflix’s animated hit “KPop Demon Hunters” has been added to the first wave of screeners in the Oscars Screening Room, marking the film’s official entry for consideration in the 98th Academy Awards.

The Netflix animated film KPop Demon Hunters is set to have sing-along screenings across the US later this month. Currently the second-most watched English film on Netflix, it is already the frontrunner for Oscars in 2026.
