Amazon.com reported solid second-quarter earnings that beat expectations Thursday afternoon. Earnings rose to $1.68 a share versus Wall Street’s consensus estimate of $1.33, according to FactSet, and were up from $1.

Amazon’s (AMZN) second-quarter results last night exceeded expectations, showcasing the strength and resilience of its core businesses. Yet, the market responded with a sharp selloff, sending AMZN shares down more than 6% in early trading today.

Due to the success of Grow A Garden, analysts expect to see 25% annual growth in sales, and even better growth rates in user metrics.

However, analysts are out in force making the case that investors should buy the dip. Morgan Stanley kept Amazon ( AMZN) slotted as a top pick. Analyst Brian Nowak noted that retail growth and profit improvements are shining and driving earnings.
