Two people were killed when a car struck pedestrians in Manhattan's Chinatown Saturday morning. It happened at around 7:30 a.m. at Canal Street and Broadway.Police say a blue Chevy Malibu had been traveling westbound on the Manhattan Bridge.

After the collision, the driver and a passenger reportedly tried to flee on foot. Officers quickly apprehended the pair nearby.

A Chevy Impala sedan exiting the bridge at Canal Street and Bowery hit a male cyclist and a female pedestrian on the sidewalk at around 7:30 a.m., according to the NYPD. Police said both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
