Authorities also confirmed that they had recovered "written documentation that expressed the shooter’s discontent with the COVID-19 vaccinations."

CDC security guards stopped White from driving into the campus on Friday before he parked near a pharmacy across the street and opened fire from a sidewalk. The bullets pierced “blast-resistant” windows across the campus, pinning employees down during the barrage.

Patrick Joseph White, 30, of Kennesaw, Georgia, has been identified as the suspected shooter in the incident, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. He died during the incident.

A responding officer was killed in the attack at the CDC's Atlanta campus on Friday. The shooter took his own life. Some agency staff are now blaming rampant misinformation for the attack.

A search of Patrick Joseph White’s home revealed documents in which he indicated his discontent with the vaccine, they said.
