James Cook dressed in uniform to warm up prior to the Bills preseason opener Saturday at Highmark Stadium after Buffalo’s top running back sat out the final four practices of training camp in a contract standoff with the team.

Bills QB Josh Allen told reporters that he "desperately" wants James Cook back on the practice field, but he's supportive of his teammate during the RB's contract dispute.

However, Cook chose not to play against the Giants. Following the Giants' 34-25 win over the Bills, Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott spoke with the media about Cook's decision not to participate in the game.
