Two weeks after deadly floods swept through Texas, officials dropped the number of still-missing people in the hardest-hit area to three — down from nearly 160 in the days following the July Fourth weekend floods.

The number of people missing in Texas' catastrophic flooding has fallen to three from 160 in the immediate aftermath of the extreme weather event, said Kerr County officials as the search enters a third week.

Rescue teams have worked "tirelessly" to track down those reported missing after the floods in Kerr County on 4 July.
