Urban Wood Depot opens in Providence. Posted: July 1, 2025 | Last updated: July 1, 2025. The city has launched the first-of-its-kind facility to reclaim and repurpose urban forestry waste.

The Urban Wood Project is a collaboration between the city of Baltimore, the USDA Forest Service and others. Their hope is that salvaging wood can revitalize the city.

The Wood Lot will be offering free mulch, as well as lumber and artisan crafted wood pieces at below-market rates.
