Google Photos is updating its image-to-video feature with Veo 3, Google's popular generative AI video model. In July, the tech giant introduced a way for U.S. users to turn their photos into videos within Google Photos. As of Thursday, this feature is now powered by Veo 3.

First came the AI chatbots, then the AI image generators. Now, tech companies are rushing to release AI video generators.

Google updated the Google Photos experience a few months ago to add a new "Create" tab that gives users fast access to new AI editing abilities, including a tool that lets them turn photos into videos.

The video-generation model Veo 3 has come to Google Photos, bringing even more AI tomfoolery to the platform. This allows users to do all sorts of wacky things. First and foremost, the pre-existing photo to video feature has been significantly improved.

Google Photos already offers video generation through its "Photo to video" feature, but the company says the addition of Veo 3 enhances that functionality with higher-quality video.

Google Photos has got support for Veo 3, which means you can now turn static images into videos using Google's state-of-the-art AI model.

Earlier this year, Google brought Veo 2 to Google Photos to turn your photos into short videos. Today, they are launching Veo 3 for Google Photos. This is an improved video generation model, located in the Create tab inside of the Photos app.

Google has announced free access to its latest artificial intelligence video generator, Veo 3, giving all users, paid or not, a chance to try it free. The announcement came from Google CEO Sundar Pichai, who said he was excited to see what people create using the tool.

Although reliable, the model is clearly not as advanced as Veo 3, which took the world by storm when it became available in May. The tech giant has a habit of trickling down features, and when image-to-video functionality was initially added to Google Photos,
