India's Vodafone Idea on Thursday named insider Abhijith Kishore as CEO and reported a smaller-than-expected first-quarter loss as the telecom operator continued to benefit from the previous year's price hikes.

Revenue was almost flat, increasing only 0.1% sequentially for the three months ended June, reaching Rs 11,023 crore. Operating income, or earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation, fell 1% quarter-on-quarter to Rs 4,612 crore. The Ebitda margin contracted to 41.8%.

The telecom major's revenue from operations grew 4.9% year-on-year to ₹11,022.5 crore in Q1FY26, up from ₹10,508.3 crore in Q1FY25
