Wednesday night at the Canadian Open in Montreal, Osaka, the four-time Grand Slam champion who hasn’t won a tournament since the Australian Open in 2021, had her way with Clara Tauson of Denmark early and outslugged her late to win 6-2, 7-6 (7) to make her first final of a tour event since January in New Zealand.

Naomi Osaka saved herself from another close exit, closing out a narrow 6-2, 7-6 victory over Clara Tauson at the Canadian Open. The win lands Osaka a WTA 1000 Final for the first time in three years and her first WTA Tour-level final since January’s ASB Classic.

Naomi Osaka is once again rolling as she has finally found the consistency that she has so craved over the past year and a half as she took down Clara Tauson 6-2, 7-6(7) to make her first final since January and her first on the WTA 1000 calendar since 2022.
