The billionaire accused Apple of boosting his rival OpenAI’s visibility over his xAI chatbot Grok, and threatened legal action on antitrust grounds.

Billionaire SpaceX, Tesla and X owner Elon Musk says he plans to sue Apple for not featuring X and its Grok artificial intelligence chatbot app in its top recommended apps in its App Store.

Musk has not yet provided evidence that Apple has suppressed his apps. As of this writing, ChatGPT is the top app on the Apple App Store charts; Grok is in the fifth spot, lagging behind Threads.

Elon Musk has threatened Apple with legal action for what he perceives as overt favoritism towards OpenAI's ChatGPT app in its App Store rankings. In a series of posts on X, he claimed that Grok, the chatbot created by his own company xAI, was being unfairly penalized by the iPhone maker.

Elon Musk is taking Apple to task over its lack of promotion of not only X, but the Grok app, also. Musk wondered aloud on social media why the App Store does not have X or the Grok app, which is an artificial intelligence chatbot created by xAI,
