Teenage aviator Ethan Guo was detained by Chilean authorities after he flew to an Antarctic base without authorization.

An American teenager who is trying to fly solo to all seven continents in order to raise money for cancer research, has been arrested after landing in Antarctica without permission.

Ethan Guo, a 19-year-old pilot from Memphis, Tennessee, was detained and charged with submitting a false flight plan before heading to the South Pole, according to the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Magallanes and Chilean Antarctic Region.
