Delta said it's 'testing' AI pricing in its latest earnings call. A new white paper from its software partner, Fetcherr, explains what goes into the algorithm.

The airline says it doesn’t target fare offers based on personal information after lawmakers share concerns about the technology.

Delta Air Lines Inc. said it’s not using, and doesn’t plan to use, artificial intelligence to offer customers fares based on individual personal data, addressing a public backlash led by several members of Congress.

There is no fare product Delta has ever used, is testing or plans to use that targets customers with individualized prices based on personal data,” the airline told senators Friday.

The airline said it plans to deploy AI-based revenue management technology across 20 percent of its domestic network by the end of 2025 in partnership with Fetcherr, an AI pricing company. Delta Air Lines currently uses the platform for 3 percent of its domestic flights.
