Saturday brings highs in the mid- to upper 80s, then the National Weather Service forecasts temperatures across the region could hit 100 or higher Sunday and Monday.

After the hottest day ever on record for August yesterday, with a high of 118 degrees, we will drop several degrees on Friday. Our Extreme Heat Warning remains in effect through 8 p.m. Friday as temperatures continue to sizzle.

An Extreme Heat Warning has been issued for much of Central Florida, where temperatures are expected to reach dangerous levels. High temperatures are expected to range between 95 and 100 degrees. The heat will feel even more intense, with "feels like" temperatures reaching 110 to 115 degrees.

Here in the Valley, an Extreme Heat Warning remains in effect through 8 p.m. Friday as temperatures soar to record levels. Phoenix has officially hit 118 degrees today, easily breaking the daily record of 112 degrees set in 2012.
