Pulse may not have been good, but by virtue of being Netflix’s first foray into medical procedurals — one of television’s longest-running and most-successful genres — Pulse was going to be precedent-setting one way or another.

Freshman Netflix shows “ Pulse ” and “ The Residence ” have both been canceled, Variety has learned. Both series aired just one season at the streamer.

Netflix has axed two of its spring originals — the medical drama “Pulse” and the Shondaland murder mystery “The Residence,” TheWrap has learned. As for “No Good Deed,” the streamer has yet to make a renewal decision about the show starring Ray Romano and Lisa Kudrow.
