Public health officials in Solano County confirmed a positive West Nile Virus detection in mosquitoes collected from near the Birds Landing area in the Sacramento delta.

The New Mexico Department of Health has confirmed the first human West Nile virus infection in 2025. The resident is from Valencia County and was hospitalized after the infection. The virus has been confirmed in three horses across New Mexico.

The New Mexico Department of Health has confirmed the first West Nile virus case of 2025 in the state on Thursday. According to NMDOH, a Valencia County resident was hospitalized with the infection and has since been discharged.

The Denver Department of Public Health and Environment announced Monday that the city's first human case of West Nile virus this season has been confirmed. Officials in Jefferson County have also confirmed their first human cases of the virus,

"We are seeing a geographic expansion of West Nile virus activity to new towns in Connecticut," John Shepard, a medical entomologist at CAES, said. "We anticipate further build-up of West Nile virus in mosquitoes with increased risk of human infection from now through September."

GREENE COUNTY — A local county alerted the community that a dozen mosquitoes have tested positive for West Nile Virus. Greene County Public Health officials were notified by the Ohio Department of Health that 12 mosquito samples taken from Bellbrook, Beavercreek, and Fairborn tested positive for West Nile Virus, according to a media release.

Mosquitoes collected in Framingham have tested positive for West Nile virus, and officials said Thursday that the city has been elevated to moderate risk of virus transmission.

Connecticut health officials said that West Nile virus was detected in mosquitoes that were trapped in 21 towns.
