Several Jewish students and faculty at the University of California, Los Angeles reached a settlement on Tuesday, July 29, in a discrimination lawsuit alleging the school allowed protesters to bar Jewish people from the campus.

Jewish students and a professor said the university had allowed a hostile protest. After the settlement was announced, the Department of Justice separately said it had found the university violated civil rights laws.

The students and one professor sued UC last year and said a pro-Palestinian encampment blocked them from getting to campus facilities.
