Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 was first officially revealed during the Xbox showcase as part of Summer Game Fest 2025 schedule lineup. With a trailer unveiling the next Black Ops game, we've since learned it will be taking us to a futuristic setting in the year 2035, 40 years after the events of Black Ops 6.

Taking a cue from Battlefield 6, Activision has confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will also require Windows Secure Boot when it launches later

Black Ops 7 will come with a mandatory requirement to enable secure boot on your PC, Activision have announced.

Black Ops 7 is the first title in the series that will require players to enable security features designed to help combat cheaters.

Black Ops 7 will require Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 when the game launches later this year. To better protect against cheaters, Activision says that Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 players on PC will need to use hardware with Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0 and have Windows’ Secure Boot feature turned on when the game is available later this year.

In our opinion, adding the 10 things listed here could turn Black Ops 7 into the reboot Call of Duty needs in 2025.

While TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot are not currently required to play available Call of Duty games, Activision notes that both features will be required to run Black Ops 7 when it launches later this year. The publisher says, "Keeping these settings enabled ensures a fair and fun experience for all players."
