The San Francisco-based metal band is rumored to be planning a residency at the eye-catching Nevada venue next year.

"We're all such fans of this venue," Lars Ulrich said. "All of our managers and our production people have been there and looked at it."

The publication Vital Vegas reported the rumor on Friday (July 25), noting that they learned from sources that the metal giants are preparing to sign a deal with the iconic venue. As of now, the only details they've allegedly learned is that the residency could take place in the fall of 2026.

Metallica are rumoured to be "ready to ink a deal" for a residency at Las Vegas' Sphere in 2026. Sin City publication Vital Vegas made the claim after lead guitarist Kirk Hammett revealed the heavy metal legends are eager to play the state-of-the-art venue on The Strip.

While guesting on 'The Howard Stern Show,' the Metallica drummer addressed two big rumors that have been swirling recently.

"We're hearing Metallica could play Sphere in the fall of 2026," Vital Vegas wrote, "but specifics haven't been confirmed or announced yet. For fans, even a rumor of a Metallica residency at Sphere is akin to having an electric eel shoved down one's pants, but in a good way."
