In August 2025, a rumor spread that radio host Howard Stern's long-running show was being canceled after many decades on the airwaves. According to gossip site The Sun the show, which aired on SiriusXM for around 20 years, was set to be canceled in late 2025 after the end of Stern's purported $100 million contract.

All of those rumors come from a story published by The U.S. Sun which said that the satellite radio and streaming provider would not re-up Stern when his contract runs out at the end of the year. Instead, according to the report, SiriusXM would look to make a deal with Stern for his catalogue.

The rumor began earlier this week, when a report claimed Stern's listenership had plummeted to a small fraction of its previous high. The report claims SiriusXM, which broadcasts his show, is preparing to part ways with him.
