Harris County drivers along Highway 288 can expect to see lower toll rates as soon as next month, according to TxDOT officials.

HOUSTON - The Texas Department of Transportation is lowering toll rates on a stretch of SH 288 on Houston’s south side. The reduced rates, which will go into effect as soon as Sept. 1, will apply to more than 10 miles of SH 288 from I-69 to the Harris-Brazoria county line.

The state-owned part of Texas 288 includes more than 10 miles of tolled facilities from Interstate 69 to the county line between Harris and Brazoria counties, according to TxDOT. The Harris County Toll Road Authority will handle the toll billing and customer account management.
