Venus Williams’ comeback is headed to the U.S. Open next month. She will enter the redesigned mixed doubles tournament with Reilly Opelka via a wild-card entry.

Venus Williams and Reilly Opelka were one of 14 teams -- six via wild card -- announced Tuesday by the USTA for its mixed doubles event at the US Open in August.

The mixed-doubles field at the U.S. Open, which begins next month in New York, will be a star-studded event. The United States Tennis Association announced Tuesday the eight teams receiving direct entries into the tournament,
