Mikel Arteta has sought to reassure Kai Havertz over his game-time at Arsenal after Viktor Gyokeres ’ move to the Emirates Stadium. Sweden international Gyokeres completed a £64m move to Arsenal last month and scored his first goal for the club in Saturday’s pre-season friendly against Athletic Bilbao.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta dispensed his familiar cloak of ambiguity to confirm that the Gunners were not only “actively looking” at signing more players but are also planning to offload “a few” members of the current squad.

Mikel Arteta has refused to rule out further incomings at Arsenal this summer ahead of the final three weeks of the summer transfer window. The Gunners have signed six players so far with Viktor Gyokeres and Martin Zubimendi the two headline arrivals.
