The Minnesota Timberwolves stormed back for a stunning 98-90 victory that eliminated the reigning champion Denver Nuggets in Game 7 of their second-round NBA playoff series on Sunday night. The Wolves went on a 54-24 run in the second half that erased a 20-point deficit and advanced Minnesota to the Western Conference finals.

The Timberwolves have ended the Nuggets' title defense in historic fashion. Despite trailing by as many as 20 points in the first half, Minnesota found a way to claw back to earn an eight-point lead and advance to the Western Conference Finals for the second time in franchise history.

The 2003-04 season was the last time the Minnesota Timberwolves saw the Western Conference Finals. Two decades later and the young and hungry Wolves were looking to knock off the reigning champs on the road.
