DESCRIPTION: NAME: Rainbow Rose SCIENTIFIC NAME: Rosa COLOR: White - Rainbow (Please see additional information below!) PLANT SEEDS: Fall / Cold Stratify PLANT HEIGHT: 36 - 48" PLANT SPACING: 24 - 36" BLOOM TIME: Late Spring - Fall (Repeat Bloomer) HARDINESS ZONE: 2 - 11 LIGHT REQUIREMENTS: Sun - Part Shade SOIL & WATER PREFERENCES: Average QUANTITY: 5 Seeds OTHER: What is a garden without roses? Their lovely very fragrant double blooms will delight you all season long! Roses make an excellent cut flower and these large blooms will last for up to 2 weeks once cut. They are also a popular dried flower. Wouldn't it be wonderful to give your friends or family a beautiful bouquet of roses cut from your very own garden? About the Rainbow Rose - Rainbow Roses are created, they do not grow naturally in rainbow patterns & require human assistance to achieve this look. Although there are many seed sellers that would like you to believe that their seeds will grow multicolored roses, it is simply is not true. There is no such thing. Now that I have broken your heart, let me give you the good news. All of the lovely photos you see of these roses are real, and the roses can be made (with your help) to grow like this! The technique used for dying flowers has actually been around for over 1000 years and is used on other flowers such as chrysanthemums, carnations, & hydrangeas. The method exploits the rose's natural processes by which water is drawn up the stem. By splitting the stem and dipping each part in a different colored water, the colors are drawn into the petals resulting in a multicolored rose. There are special types of roses that are used in this dying process. Specific species absorb the colors much more easily, quickly, and completely than others. The roses must be white in order for the dyed colors to appear as they do on the petals once they are dyed. That having been said, these seeds we are offering are the best for dying, and do grow white on the bush, so they are exactly what you will need to make your very own Rainbow Roses. I will explain here how you can do this at home. Start with a freshly cut rose with an 8-9" stem, and split the bottom of the stem with scissors, dividing it into the # of colors you wish to dye it. The most popular/commonly used colors are the 7 primary colors of the rainbow, but other color combinations can be just as lovely. Fill small cups with water, and add food coloring to each cup. Place each separated stem section into a cup. Allow the rose to soak up the coloring for 24-48 hours, and prepare to be amazed! Your rose will have absorbed all of the lovely colors from your cups. You can of course dry the roses and continue to enjoy them. There are also many YouTube videos available to show you how to color your roses. While I love all roses, these beauties stole my heart the first time I saw them, and I find the small amount of time it takes to create them extremely well worth it! * FREE SHIPPING ON ALL ADDITIONAL SEEDS! PAY ONE FLAT SHIPPING FEE PER ORDER NO MATTER HOW MANY PACKS OF SEEDS YOU SELECT! WE HAVE OVER 2,000 TYPES OF FLOWER, VINE, TREE, SHRUB, HERB, FRUIT, & VEGETABLE SEEDS TO CHOOSE FROM!!!
