Description

Introduction Unique Purple Color!!! Year round color Re-blooming purple flowers in spring and summer Great for adding color to your landscape Pest and disease resistant Low maintenance Never Bareroot... All plants come rooted into a container with soil. Description The Autumn Royalty® Encore® Azalea is not your normal everyday azalea. It has all the great characteristics of the original azalea and so much more! With this shrub producing flowers for longer periods of time, it is a staple for every landscape design. The flowers produced are a beautiful, deep, jewel toned fuchsia. During the flowering seasons, the trumpet shaped flowers grow in clusters at the end of each branch and blanket the entire shrub. From spring to summer you can enjoy enchanting pink-purple petals for the entire warm season. The Autumn Royalty® Encore® Azalea will grow to a height and width of 4-5 feet. This is an evergreen shrub, meaning that foliage is present year round. The Autumn Royalty® Encore® Azalea is a compact shrub that fills in those smaller spaces in your landscape. In the spring and summer, a bounty of beautiful blooms are the highlight. During the fall and winter, the shrub is a beautiful backdrop to other flowering plants in your beds and gardens. Use the Autumn Royalty® Azalea as a foundation plant or even plant these in front of a privacy tree wall to add a pop of color to your landscape. Use it as a lone specimen or plant in a container for your porch. This azalea is fairly heat tolerant and requires no maintenance once established. It is recommended to prune after the blooming season and fertilize in the early spring to enjoy a fully blossomed shrub during the growing seasons. Encore azaleas are hardy, evergreen shrubs that are perfect for adding color to your landscape! Product Attachment>>> Encore Azalea Versatility Sheet How To Care When planting your azalea be sure you have the right location and conditions for your new plants to thrive. Planting time: Spring and fall are ideal times to plant azaleas. However, if you avoid freezing and extremely hot temperatures you can plant any time of the year Sun: Full sun to part shade. Encore azaleas will perform best with at least 4-6 hours of sun. While your Encore azalea will still grow and even bloom in shady areas they are less likely to rebloom and the blooms won't be as prolific. Soil: Azaleas prefer acidic soil that drains well. If you have alkaline soil, be sure to amend it. To acidify your soil amend with compost, elemental sulfur, or use fertilizers specific for acid loving plants. Mulching with pine straw or pine bark will help over time as they begin to break down, but are not an immediate solution. To improve drainage in something like a heavy clay soil, add compost and be sure to loosen up the soil well before planting. Fertilizer: Choose a balanced slow release fertilizer. Fertilize in late winter or early spring before flowering for best results. Pruning: You dont need to prune Encore azaleas, but pruning your flowering shrubs after they are done blooming can help encourage a bushier growth and renew an older plant. You can use pruning to control size, but don't prune of more than 1/3 of the plant for best results. Landscape Ideas The Autumn Royalty Encore Azalea adds vibrant color to the southern landscape and beyond. Azaleas are excellent for borders and mass plantings. This evergreen shrub jazzes up gardens and mixed beds. At 4 to 5 feet tall and wide at maturity this stunning azalea can even be used in foundation plantings. Try this flowering shrub in a container to add a bold pop of color to your entryway, porch, patio, or deck. For borders or hedges plant about 4 feet apart on center. Otherwise, plant about 6 feet apart to give your plants space in-between. For additional options, be sure to browse our Azalea and Evergreen Shrub collection.
